Being a part of BDC Youth Co/AIM means taking on the responsibility of being a role model for the Children & Teens Program and Broadway Dance Center. This responsibility means a full commitment to the company and your CTP classes for the entire season; showing up each day with presence, dedication, and a passion for dance; support for and collaboration with your fellow dancers in and out of the classroom/rehearsal room; respect for your educators and choreographers; compassion for different backgrounds and perspectives
Company members perform at several events & conventions throughout the season, and are selected by a panel at our multidisciplinary audition.
Company members are selected based on performance ability, technical skill, leadership, and the demonstrated desire to perfect their craft. Our primary goal is to expose these dancers to all facets of the dance industry through weekly master classes, seminars, rehearsals, and conventions to lay the foundation for helping them create sustainable careers in professional/commercial dance.
Company dancers work with esteemed choreographers and perform works that are showcased throughout New York City. Past performances include: The Pulse on Tour, Fleet Week for Pastry Shoes, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Good Morning America, Britney Spears’ perfume launch, The Today Show, the Young Choreographers Festival, the BDC Student Showcase, Project Dance NYC, Heart & Feet Benefit, Friends for Japan Benefit, the Dr. Oz Show, M.O.V.E for Autism, and countless others!
