Emily's classes are a forum for dancers to explore their potential and capabilities in a judgment-free, safe, and fun environment. Beginning with a warm-up designed to stretch, strengthen, build technique, and find proper alignment; dancers will warm their bodies from the inside out and tap into each muscle group, enabling an easy transition to full bodied movement. Warm-up will be followed by an improv exercise, allowing individual movement styles to be touched upon and nurtured. Class will culminate in choreographed phrase-work; emphasizing movement quality, self-expression, and putting a ‘why’ to our movement, while pushing our technical and artistic abilities to the next level.
Warm-up will touch upon stretch, strength, technique building, alignment, and isolation. Followed by across the floor progressions, we will then transition to a stylized phrase; always emphasizing technique with the style of that day’s material layered on top.
Warm-up is designed around the need for alignment, stability, weight shift, stretch, and strength. It will be followed by across the floor progressions that build upon the basic technical elements required for clean and powerful jumps and turns
