JLyn Thomas

JLyn Thomas is a multifaceted artist with talents in dance, choreography, and teaching. In high school, she won a scholarship to train at Cleo Parker Robinson Dance School in Denver, Colorado, and later went on to obtain her BA in Dance at the University of Colorado at Boulder.

After graduation, JLyn moved to New York City and signed with MSA Talent Agency. Since signing, she has danced on America’s Got Talent, Black Girls Rock, BET’s Wild Out Wednesday, and in a season of Comcast’s Get Up and Dance. She has back up danced for many artists like LL Cool J, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Cee Lo Green, Kevin Lyttle, Lil Jon, Juelz Santana and Dipset. Her TV, film and commercial work includes a print campaign for Coors Light Beer, dancing in Step Up 3D, and dancing in commercials for fitness guru Shaun T.’s Hip Hop Abs, Lucille Roberts Gym, G-Star Watch, and Malibu Rum.

JLyn has performed in an off- Broadway tribute to Lena Horne and toured with world-renowned Hip-Hop dance company, DECA Dance Theatre. In addition to working with many of the industry’s top choreographers, she has choreographed for Lil Jon, Kevin Lyttle, and FARRAD. Outside of her performance career, she has over 16 years of experience in teaching at dance studios, dance conventions, non-profit organizations, New York City public schools, and dance institutions throughout the US and abroad. She currently also the Director of Dance at Brooklyn Community Arts and Media High School, and teaches workshops at dance studios and non-profit programs throughout the US and abroad.
